GridPane

GridPane is a self-managed WordPress hosting platform that provides server management tools, performance optimization, security features, and site management capabilities for WordPress agencies and developers.

Overview​

GridPane handles the complexity of server management while giving us full control over our infrastructure:

  • Server provisioning and configuration
  • Site deployment and staging environments
  • SSL certificate management (Let's Encrypt and custom)
  • Security hardening and firewall management
  • Performance optimization (Nginx, Redis, page caching)
  • Backup management and restoration

Our Plan​

We use the Developer Plus plan, which includes:

  • Unlimited sites
  • Unlimited servers
  • Staging/Git/Failover/Fortress/Relay
  • 360 Preemptive Support

Support Scope​

GridPane provides 24/7 support via tickets and community forums. Understanding what is and isn't covered is important for efficient troubleshooting.

What's Covered​

  • Platform and dashboard issues
  • Server provisioning problems
  • Initial troubleshooting and diagnostics
  • Infrastructure-level issues

What's NOT Covered​

GridPane expects users to handle basic WordPress debugging themselves:

  • Site-specific issues (white screen, errors, slow performance)
  • Theme and plugin conflicts or fixes
  • Custom code debugging
  • Malware cleanup and remediation
  • Site migrations
  • WordPress core issues

For site-level problems, check error logs and debug locally before contacting support.

360 Preemptive Support​

360 Preemptive Support is included with our Developer Plus plan and provides proactive monitoring for servers that are enrolled

How It Works​

  • Continuous monitoring of websites and servers
  • Automatic detection of issues (pings slack)
  • Support tickets created automatically when problems are detected (mediocre response times)
  • Early warning for resource constraints, SSL issues, and downtime

Requirements​

  • Ubuntu 20.04 or 22.04
  • Healthy servers (no pre-existing unresolved issues)
  • Active monitoring enabled in dashboard

Vulnerability Scanning​

Included with Developer Plus, GridPane performs daily automated vulnerability scans across all sites on our servers.

What It Scans​

  • WordPress core
  • Installed themes
  • Installed plugins

Notifications​

  • Email: Automated support ticket created and sent when vulnerabilities are detected
  • Dashboard: Green checkmark turns orange next to affected site URLs
  • Slack: Optional integration (disabled by default, enable in account settings)

One notification per vulnerability version — we won't be spammed if the same issue exists on multiple sites.

Managing Vulnerabilities​

  • View details in the Security tab of each site's customizer (red = severe)
  • Trigger manual rescans with "Repeat Check" button
  • Exclude individual sites or servers via SSH token files
  • Whitelist specific vulnerabilities per-site or per-server
